Histoire
Le premier numéro d’hors d’oeuvre paraît en 1997. Le journal émane de l’association Interface, née cinq ans auparavant d’un désir de mettre en place des formes plus souples et conviviales pour présenter l’art contemporain et en faciliter l’accès. Le titre retenu suggère une mise en appétit, une promesse alléchante de plaisirs partagés. Les délices et le sérieux ne sont pas incompatibles ; au sein de l’équipe il est de mise de les associer, c’est un principe, on s’y tient sans effort.

La rédaction
Horsd’oeuvre s’est constitué autour d’une équipe d’étudiants et de professeurs d’histoire de l’art, des acteurs de la vie artistique (artistes, professionnels, amateurs, étudiants des Beaux-Arts), rédacteurs permanents ou occasionnels, résidant en Bourgogne ou à l’extérieur. L’originalité du journal horsd’oeuvre réside dans la diversité des regards portés sur l’art contemporain, ses aspects, ses enjeux, ses extensions avec une approche thématique. Ce genre de procédure sans parti pris autorise une liberté d’écriture : interviews, commentaires, comptes rendus, analyses et même poèmes, reflétant la pluralité des individus perçue comme un facteur positif d’expression et de réflexion.

Le journal horsd’oeuvre est une revue semestrielle gratuite. Depuis 1997, elle existe grâce à l’investissement bénévole des rédacteurs, d’un comité de rédaction et des artistes invités. Aujourd’hui, le journal est diffusé à 5000 exemplaires, partout en France et selon les numéros à l’international. Les galeries parisiennes et lyonnaises bénéficient d’une distribution spécifique par nos soins.
Qui reçoit le journal ? Les abonnés, l’ensemble des structures annoncées dans l’agenda, l’ensemble des Frac et d’autres institutions (musées, centres d’art, associations, …). Si vous souhaitez recevoir le journal dans votre boite aux lettres, il vous suffit de vous abonner.
